Three Rivers Con

June 26th 2010

Hey Knoxgamers,

We are quickly approaching our second convention of the year, on June 26, 2010. As with past conventions, we try new things and make favorite things better. The biggest change is our new venue, Fountainhead College. They have a great area we can grow in and we don’t have to worry about being too loud or staying too late.

The entrance fee will stay $15 (Cash Only). This includes a pizza lunch, free soda and bottled water, a Swag Ticket, and access to all the gaming areas. We are also looking to have a food vendor to provide more variety.

This announcement does not include all that might be offered as we work out the details.

New Hours

The doors will now open at 10:00 am, since we will have a food vendor to supply food, at a cost. This will also increase the time slots for gaming, and tournaments.

For now, we’ll end the con at midnight.

New Location

We had a chance to visit Fountainhead College a couple of weeks ago and thought this was the best place to grow Three Rivers Con. The selling points for us were:

Covered outside smoking area (close by the main room)
Break area with vending machines
Stage (will be used more as we come up with ideas)
Large area for gaming

Gaming Tables

We’ll be having 6 gaming tables again that will be open to scheduled board games. Since we open the doors a bit earlier, each session will now last 5 ½ hours!

Session 1: 11:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Free Pizza Dinner: 4: 30 PM – 5:30 PM
Session 2: 5 PM – 10:30 PM

If you are looking to fill a spot or two at your home gaming table, running a game at Three Rivers Con is a great way to find new players. You can meet and game with potential new members of your group at a neutral location.

Please send Kagan a private message (PM) on the knoxgamers.org forum to sign up that includes:

System Type
Name of your campaign
Contact info (email, and phone #)
Which session you prefer.

Table reservations will be based on two things: 1) submission time and 2) by game system. I like to have a broad range of systems from mainstream to lesser known games.

A Big Thank You

I would like to take the time to thank everyone who has made our past conventions a huge success. Most notably would be our willing DMs who take the time to put together great stories for everyone who comes. Also, a big thanks to East TN Board gamers who helped make the last January’s Con “aka Frosty Con” a big success even in the middle of a snow storm.

Disclaimer

*Of course, things can and will change. I reserve the right to change things that are out of our control, such as illnesses, unforeseen schedule conflicts with DM’s, and big, whiteout snow storms.
